My favorite scary movie is, NONE OF THEM! Honestly I haven’t seen too many to even have a favorite. I did like The Conjuring I thought it was funny. I know it was supposed to be scary but some scary movies are so bad, that I laugh at them. So the conjuring, was a great movie.

14 shots film re-cut ?
I am not going to attempt a recut of the film but I do know what mistakes I made. The mistakes were primarily little things that could’ve made the film better. Like the wardrobe for my character that I played and lacking board games for the D&D nerds in my film. I know what to look out for next time. I just needed to have planned better.

14 Shots Due Dates
My Partner and I were able to get in our project on time. The only thing we are having trouble with was communication but we were able to see past that and we BOTH admited that we didn’t communicate well.
Camera perspectives II
Objective: Illusion that the audience is there and the characters can’t see them, makes audience feel like they’re IN the film.
Subjective: Makes the audience think that they are the character in their shoes experiencing what the character is.
POV: Contains both an objective and subjective shot. Still trying to create an illusion that the audience is the character.

Movement & Camera
I know about panning, tilting, and the dolly pan (I’m not sure if those are the same thing).
These movements are great to capture all of an action scene or to captivate the feelings of a character. They make a movie interesting because the shots that are learned can be applied while in motion. instead of the characters being in motion its also the camera moving with the characters. I can’t really think of a film where the camera movements stand out except for Scott Pilgrim vs. The world. In that movie there is just so much happening that you can’t name it all.

14 Shots Film Final Post Production
As of now, I am completely finished with my 14 shots film. All I need to do is upload it, which is happening now as we speak. I will have everything turned in and uploaded by the end of class. All I have to do for the pre production is to wait for my partner to send me everything I need.

Premiere Pro/14 Shots Production
I feel pretty comfortable using premiere pro. I think I want to work on everything more. I think just to get better I have to edit something daily so I’ll try my best to get some footage and edit as often as I can. I know people who use this program and the teacher has posted his own video so that we can watch it. I’m already done with shooting so I can start editing today.

Pre Pro blog question (before)
I have edited short videos before on windows media player. I just can’t wait to learn how to use this software because I want to start soon on my projects outside of school and even if I might not get to use professional gear on my own personal projects I can still use this editing software no matter what.

14 shots project
My Partner and i will be shooting today. Our plan is to just go to my partner’s school and meet up with the actors my partner picked. After everything is shot I am going to try to put the footage somewhere else just in case I can’t edit at school or anything.

14 Shots example
In this fourteen shot example, I think that this is trying to communicate the journey that the character is on. I believe this is also trying to communicate that the character is alone on this journey by herself. The mood of this film is trying to tell us that sometimes you need to be by yourself and find your place in the world.

Shooting off campus.
My partner Amber chose to shoot this film on her school campus. our plan to pull this off is to get the clubs at her school to participate on our film. Our only location is the school Amber goes to. I believe she chose this location because she wanted the audience to relate to this character in the film by putting them in a school, which is a place everyone has been too.

127 hours trailer
The shots I saw were many POV shots, some establishing shots, and long shots.
I think the director was trying to say that this person in the movie was going through a very scary time. To show how the character in this film is a thrill seeker the director uses lots of close ups and long shot to show all of the crazy stuff the character likes.

14 Shot Blog post
My partner came up with “Clique”. This story is about a person who is all alone and can’t really find their place to be. This person hears music coming from one of the class rooms and they go to find it. After walking in to 3 or 4 classrooms with people telling this person to leave. Finally they find a clique to hang out with.

Sony Ex3 Film post
I think that the images that struck me the most were the long shots and full shots of the graffiti artists and the skaters. I also loved the two shot of the man talking to an older man. The man looked like he was devastated, like he had just heard a horrifying truth about something. The full shot of the man running in the water really spoke to me because it felt like he was releasing his inner child or something.

What were some of the things that you learned in the shots and angles lecture yesterday? How do you plan to incorporate these into future projects? What cool ideas are you thinking about trying?
Fortunately for me I didn’t really learn anything that I haven’t seen before. But for sure I plan to use these shots for action or dance films. I also have Ideas for photography for locations and I want to practice with long shots so when I come up with a new idea I can just dot it! (NIKE)

The Amazing Spiderman Trailer
This is a really great movie for me. I love this because the character of spider man I feel like I can directly relate to in real life and just the spiderman comics in general make me feel good.
What department on set interests you? If you had to choose a job in filmmaking, what would it be? Why?
LIST OF DEPARTMENTS THAT INTEREST ME:
Composer: I want to be a composer for video games, movies and for myself. I want to do that because music I something I believe I can really express my self with.
Production/Scenic artists: I absolutely LOVE to draw! I love it! I want what is in my head to be put on a screen.
Sound Mixer: I like sounds... Yes that's all there is to it.

How I can relate to Mark
I feel like can relate to Mark in my film making by not having funds for my films and not being organized. In my LIFE, I can relate to having to go with my parents to work and not really having a lot of money in general.

American Movie :Homework
The Overall plot of “American Movie” is the struggle that Mark was having while making his film. Mark started to make films since he was 14. He made 3 or 4 movies as a kid. When he got older Mark started making “Northwest”. He didn’t finish it quite yet but then He started making “Coven”. Some of the Challenges he was starting to have was lack of cast and crew.
In spite of lack of people to help him with his film, He had his uncle and other friends who loaned him money for “Covan”. He also got very creative with the camera and what he had to use. I personally think he did a great job doing what he did to make the film work on such a low budget. Sound was also very important in his film. Actually all films need to do recording after you finish production. He really couldn’t do anything without the re recording of sound in the film.
In spite of his innovative mind, Mark had lots of problems with money. He had a pretty bad drinking problem. He didn’t really plan well either. He had many problems with trying to come up with money and make the film and eat and take care of his kids. But, Mark had many strengths to help him through the rough times he was having. He was very, VERY optimistic. He never doubted that he would get his stuff done no matter what happened. He came up with Ideas really quickly just incase something happened that kept him from sticking to his original plan.
I Personally can relate to not having a lot of money and having to do things on a low budget and hanging out with my parents while they were at work and coming home on late nights with my parents. I also can relate to people flaking on me and leaving me and maybe… MAYBE a small few to do work on a project of some sort. I also can relate to being an optimist. No matter what happens sometimes, it never stays that way forever.

Take a moment to write about your favorite films. What did you like about them? What stood out to you? Did the rubric make sense? Was it fair? Why do you think this?
My favorite film was “Faking it”. I Honestly loved “MANTIS” better but because it was like the best, there isn’t too much too say. So I picked “Faking it because I loved the idea. I really thought that the dude on the left would’ve lost but he really won and walked away with his opponent’s prize. The rubric on the other hand, I think we graded fairly on students’ films but I think the rubric doesn’t get everything so we didn’t grade as well as we could’ve but there only needs to be small changes to the rubric.

What were some challenges you faced editing your movie on your mobile device? What device and apps did you use? What were some things that you wished you could have done but were unable to do?
My partner and I used imovie. We started having problems with adding the credits until we figured out that we needed a black background for the credits. As soon as we figured that out we then started having problems with the audio for the film. But then my awesome partner decided to record the music as best as possible. When we actually got to watching the film with the music it sounded pretty good.

Post Production Day
Yesterday my partner and I had to do lots of editing. We started out by doing our breakdowns and storyboards. After that we started to edit. When we were editing we edited on imovie. We had some problems with giving my partner the footage that I did. For a while we tried to get my footage and I thought we were totally screwed.
But later we found out how to make it happen and we finished our rough cut. Then we showed another group and we got great feedback. Then we tried to edit the music into the movie and at first we had a problem with finding the correct audio track for the parts we needed. Luckily I got a good friend to give me a website for the greatest tracks for suspenseful music. After that we completely edited our movie and my partner went home and uploaded it.
