What is set etiquette? Why is it important? What types of problems might occur on set if you break set etiquette?

Set Etiquette is treating your whole movie set like a construction site! Set etiquette is safety and communication on set. If you don’t communicate on set people might not be very safe. Set etiquette is very important because people can end up losing their lives on set. For example, if on set and for whatever reason you see that a tripod on a camera isn’t set up properly, a normal everyday camera that fits in your hands might not hurt anyone if it fell. But now say you have a camera that is extremely huge and costs about one hundred thousand or more hanging twenty feet in the air AND your tripod still isn’t fixed… and it falls on someone’s head…

that would be ridiculous because now that person’s head is half gone with their whole entire face rearranged. That’s just one of very many gruesome things that can happen on set if you are feeling lazy. So for the sake of your co-worker’s lives…. please do your job, and follow set etiquette.

Six Word Stories

“It would be fun!” They said.

"Jesus came, Dies for our sins"

Why is Safety Important? What are some dangers that you can think of on a set?

Safety is EXTREMELY important. It is important because if you aren’t careful with large pieces of equipment you can seriously end some elses life. The dangers you can face while you are messing with equipment is : Killing someone on accident, losing limbs, and losing your JOB!!

So to simply and wisely keep from murdering people on accident,

BE SAFE ON SET.

What Is A Synonym? How is it important in story telling?

A 'Synonym' Is a word that has nearly or the exact same meaning as another word in that same language.

Using synonyms in story telling can be a great way to get your point across. They can be used to give your audience a better understanding of the story if there aren't any words they understand using synonyms can be very useful to help the viewer understand what they are watching. They also can be used to give the viewer a certain feeling such as, hearing words like insanity, mad and crazy, all can make the viewer feel some sort of suspense or discomfort.

What are some ways you can perform your narrative on camera creatively? What are some ways you could make it more visual? Why is it important to make it visual?

When you make a narrative on camera there are a number of things you can do. You can use props, other actors, or maybe even puppets if you have any. You can make a narrative more visual with a setting in the story takes place, so the viewer can have a better Idea of where you are. Perhaps maybe having someone else to do the filming for you. It is important to have visuals so that the viewer can be entertained. If they aren’t entertained then they won’t want to watch your narrative.

My Personal Narrative

I went to a school called, Valley Christian. If you want to go solely for academics, sports, or the arts, you should totally go there. If you are anything like me and you LOVE to talk to people about ideas, maybe Valley isn’t the place for you… at all. But unfortunately for me I got the opportunity to go to this school. My parents thought it would be best for me because I was the only one in the house who read their bible almost daily, that I should go because it was a “Christian” school. Now I come from a Christian family but when I was eight years old we started falling away from the faith and my parents started to have a much more worldly view about the world. When I was thirteen I started going to church by myself and my faith by the end of my freshman year of high school became my own. Now, lets go back to Valley Christian. The first thing I noticed was that people there were predominantly white and Asian. Not really that many Black, Mexican or Pacific Islanders. But when ever I saw them, most seemed like a “white washed” version of them. Not that I’m saying that being a stereotypical version of your culture is okay, but no one but myself and a small few were embracing theirs.
I felt like where I went I got a recycled version of the last person I saw. Hence the term “white washed”. This private school had lots of rich white kids trying to be appealing to almost everyone they saw, except no one who really fit the “professional” image this school was trying to give off. Just to be clear I don’t really enjoy saying “white washed” but I really felt like no one there liked to embrace anything about themselves or their background at this school.
AFTER SCHOOL, was almost a whole other thing. If you hung out with anyone after school you got to pretty much see their true colors. Not just personality wise but if anyone allowed you to even simply walk off campus with them it was the absolutely most glorious thing ever. Why that is so awesome is, like I said: I felt like I saw a recycled version of everyone. Including teachers sometimes. Bottom line is, going to Valley Christian wasn’t a great experience because I felt like I was the only “different” one there.

I also found it almost hilarious that almost no one there was even Christian. Seemed to me people only went because there parents wanted them to go. People claimed that they were Christian but they actually weren’t. Now I’m not saying that Christians don’t need to be perfect, but we definitely need to be loving and authentic. Lots of people at Valley Christian weren’t. It almost hurt me when I would talk about the word of God to some one but they would nod and agree and then not want to even hang out with me or pretend to like me but then see them not living a Christian life. Or when I’m around people who are black and they don’t even want to hang out with me or look at me like I’m crazy. Even though they are also black. Don’t get me wrong though, I DID in fact have some black friends… I just didn’t see them too often. The days were often dreadfully boring and my classes were unnecessarily hard. I failed almost all my classed but then did summer school to bring up my grades. (That’s not so important though.)  But my time at valley wasn’t all bad because I had piano and dance class. Having those classes and being able to perform in front of people and them allowing me to connect with them, at least in that way made me feel alive at Valley. My time at Valley was a very depressing one but the art was the only thing that made it worthwhile. One thing I’m grateful for from Valley is I noticed my individuality and my uniqueness from everyone else. The only real good thing that came from that was that I grew in my faith in Christ and now I want to share that with the world, through my crafts.

What is a personal narrative? Is it important? What enters your mind when you think about it?

I think a personal narrative is a story told about yourself. Like an autobiography. A biography is a story told about an actual person. Autobiographies are stories told by YOU. I think A personal narrative is important because, it helps to get a first person point of view when listening to a story about another person. Its one thing to hear a story about someone else but another thing when that someone else Is telling you a story about themselves.

What Is a Film? What Is a Movie? What is a Video? Are They Different? Why?

I believe that films, videos, and movies are similar in some ways but also different. Movies are an hour or more usually. (sometimes shorter) Movies are shown in movie theaters. Films are normally just "short films" ranging between 10 minuets to 35-40 minutes. You don't get to watch these films in theaters. Videos are relatively short. about 3 seconds to 10 minuets. But I've seen things that were called "short films" or "short movies" on youtube about the same length as videos or movies. Movies are more official, made by larger and usually more famous companies. Films are more amateurish. Not that they aren't good cause I've seen my fair share of good and bad films and movies. But films to me seem like they are made by people who aren't really known so well by the general public. Videos can be made by anyone.

Overall I feel like they all have many similarities. They all can be good or bad. They all are made with cameras. They all require a time and effort in to making really great ones no matter what kind of film, video, or movie you are making.

Wall-E review

Wall-E is absolutely one of the most visually gorgeous movies from Pixar. The visuals, the music and the humanoid characters are what make this movie amazing. This movie has almost no dialogue in it. But that alone makes the movie that much more fun to watch. Watching the characters' actions throughout the movie makes you really feel like you have an emotional connection to the characters.

Overall, I never saw anything bad about Wall-E except for the romantic parts of the movie. (although I've never really enjoyed romance in movies anyway).
In general, the movie is fantastic and deserves 4 1/2 stars!!!

Why Are Movies So Magical? What Makes Them Special To You?

Motion pictures are one of the greatest inventions of all time. What makes them so special is that you can tell a story in a way where people can feel like they're i the movie. Movies are so magical and
beautiful because like any art you can say whatever you want to express yourself to connect with your
audience. But what makes movies so different than any other craft, is that you can put all of it together
as one. For a musician all they need is an instrument and a studio. For a singer they need they're voice
and maybe a couple glasses of water. An illustrator/painter would need a writing utensil and a canvas.
A dancer needs their bodies etc. But what makes film so special is that you can have a large team of
people that consists of smaller teams within it, that solely focus on one craft. In a film you NEED almost all of these to make it special. Movies can relate to anyone and everyone because it has so many crafts in one film. Every movie has almost every art in one motion picture so that it can say 100x one thousand words!

How Does Teamwork Effect Filmmaking? Why Is It So Important?

Teamwork is essential in making any art, especially film. It is important because there is a lot more

work you could get done with even just one extra person instead of by yourself. Great films like; Star

wars, Tron: legacy, and Fast and the furious, Would take decades to finish! Even thousands of people

to work on a film would take years to finish one film. (Depending on special effects of the movie.)

Even if its a short 30 minute film, That would take months with a team of people. So doing short films

by yourself would take probably the whole year maybe a little more. Its also easier to film with

multiple people coming up with ideas to effectively shoot a film. So in conclusion, making a film is

already lots of time with a team. So by yourself it would take much longer.

Why Is Vertical video A Bad Idea? Have You Taken One? Why?

Why Is Vertical video A Bad Idea? Have You Taken One? Why?

Vertical videos are an absolutely awful idea because are our eyes horizontal and its really hard to watch videos or movies if you have to turn your head every single time you watch something. I personally do not remember even taking a vertical video EVER in my life. (Okay maybe once but that’s not important.)

What's your favorite movie and why?

I  absolutely love Scott pilgrim: vs. The World! I love this movie because it has the perfect blend

of action and comedy! I feel like it has a mix between Dragonball/Naruto and 21 jump street. If any

one loves action or comedy, (or if your like me, both) I would definitely  recommend this movie to

anyone and everyone! (Except small children though)
