What is set etiquette? Why is it important? What types of problems might occur on set if you break set etiquette?

Set Etiquette is treating your whole movie set like a construction site! Set etiquette is safety and communication on set. If you don’t communicate on set people might not be very safe. Set etiquette is very important because people can end up losing their lives on set. For example, if on set and for whatever reason you see that a tripod on a camera isn’t set up properly, a normal everyday camera that fits in your hands might not hurt anyone if it fell. But now say you have a camera that is extremely huge and costs about one hundred thousand or more hanging twenty feet in the air AND your tripod still isn’t fixed… and it falls on someone’s head…

that would be ridiculous because now that person’s head is half gone with their whole entire face rearranged. That’s just one of very many gruesome things that can happen on set if you are feeling lazy. So for the sake of your co-worker’s lives…. please do your job, and follow set etiquette.
